Oklahoma Real Estate License Requirements for Brokers
To obtain a real estate broker license in Oklahoma, the requirements are slightly different.
You still have to be at least 18, provide proof of citizenship, and have a background check, but you also have to share your industry experience.
You must not only currently hold a sales associate license in Oklahoma, but you need to have at least two years of licensure within the last five.
Additionally, you’ll need to complete a Change License Request through the Oklahoma Real Estate Commission’s online portal and upload a Transaction Experience Waiver.
Along with the forms, you’ll need to complete a 90-hour broker course and a 15-hour Oklahoma Broker-in-Charge course for eligibility.
These must come from an approved institution as well.
You’ll also need to decide which type of broker you’d like to be. This is based on the type of brokerage you will own or work for.
You have the option to be a Broker Proprietor, who manages a brokerage that’s a proprietorship, or a Managing Broker, who manages a brokerage that’s an LLC or corporation.
Once that’s sorted out, you can register for the real estate license exam. Also given by PSI Exams, the broker examination consists of 135 questions and lasts for four hours.
You need a minimum score of 75 percent to pass.
