My Bio
From local residents and business owners to budding entrepreneurs and entertainers throughout the State of Texas, Alisha M. Andrews serves her clients as a dedicated representative and trusted advisor.
Alisha developed critical journalism, communications, and public relations skills while studying at The University of North Texas' Mayborn School of Journalism; Later, graduating cum laude and earning a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Strategic Communications with a Concentration in Public Relations.
She went on to pursue her legal studies at St. Mary's University School of Law where she cultivated a thorough commitment to justice while gaining invaluable practical experience working as a legal intern at the Bexar County Office of Criminal District Court Administration.
When presented, Alisha seized the opportunity to attain a cultured perspective of International Law and foreign institutions by participating in St. Mary's Summer Study Abroad program in the Alps at the Institute on World Legal Problems in Innsbruck, Austria.
While studying abroad, she attended Constitutional Law courses taught by Distinguished Visiting Jurists: United States Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas in the Summer of 2013 and The Honorable Patrick Higginbotham, Senior Judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit in the Summer of 2014.
Soon after being admitted to the Texas State Bar in 2015, Alisha established A. Andrews Law, PLLC based in San Antonio, Texas. Her ambitious spirit, integrity, and passion for helping people achieve their goals continue to be motivating factors throughout her life and practice.
Professionally, Alisha has been recognized in San Antonio Scene Magazine as a San Antonio Best Lawyer and Rising Star Lawyer from 2016-2020 and, most recently, in 2022 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch. In her free time, Alisha enjoys spending time with her family, painting, cooking, and traveling.
I've always had an entrepreneurial spirit and have been up for a challenge. After talking to my mentor and a couple of colleagues, it seemed like the most natural option.
I try not to look at life through the lens of a challenge because life is full of challenges - for everyone. It's important to focus on the positive when you can. But, to answer the question -- Of course, there's the challenge of getting through the notoriously competitive law school environment without comparing yourself and your path to others. There's also the challenge of doubt - both self-doubt and doubt from others - people asking why I didn't take the more traditional route of going to work for Big Law then starting a business. And, perhaps, most obviously, there's the challenge of being a Black, female attorney and business owner in a field that's predominantly and historically white and male. I accept the challenge and set out to do my best for all of my clients regardless of the circumstances.

Being peer-nominates as a San Antonio Best Lawyer and San Antonio Rising Star Lawyer within the first couple months of going solo and starting my law firm. I was so surprised and honored. It was validation that I made the right choice and that I had peers that stood behind me.
As a solo practitioner, I know what it's like to start a business from the ground up. My husband and I are both entrepreneurs so I personally understand the importance of incorporation and having a good contract to ensure that the terms of a deal are set in stone and to be able to have some type of remedy to fall back on if the deal falls through. As a mother of 2 girls under 3, I understand the importance of having an estate plan in place to protect your wealth and provide for your family's future in the most efficient way possible.
