I have a degree from Montana State University in Agricultural Economics and Jennifer has a degree in Business Administration from the University of Montana.
Our start in property management began with the purchase of a 9-unit apartment building in 1993. I have worked full-time in property management since 1995, and we also owned a public accounting firm for 17 years. Jennifer is a CPA and has worked full-time in the business since we sold the accounting firm in 2009.
It is property management... Like any small business, we have had many struggles over the years. The financial crisis of 2007-2008 stands out. I'm proud of the way we worked with our clients and real estate partners to weather the crisis. We've had really great employees over the years and we continue to learn.
I hold a Bachelor of Science from Montana State University in Agricultural Economics.
I am an Associate Broker in the Commercial Division of Evergreen Realty and a Licensed Property Manager in the State of Montana. I hold the RMP® Designation from the National Association of Residential Property Managers, and the CMCA® Designation from the Community Association Managers Certification Board. I am President of the National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM) for the Inland Northwest Chapter. Our Idaho Property Management company is the recipient of the 'Best of Bonner County' award for 2018 and 2019. I have been a speaker at the Real Estate Research Committee Market Forum and also at a National Association of Residential Property Managers Regional Conference. I am a member of Rotary International.
My wife Jennifer has been a CPA for 31 years and owned a public accounting firm in Sandpoint Idaho for approximately 17 years. She now works in the property management business and both of our boys have worked in the business. Our son Luke is a third-year medical student at the University of Utah, and our son Will is a Geotechnical Engineer in Philadelphia. Jennifer also holds the CMCA designation from the Community Associations International Certification Board. She is also a licensed IFR Certified commercial pilot.
As a corporation, we believe it’s vital to give back and to help the business of property management continue to grow and help ensure the future of an industry which supports our livelihoods. Educating the public about the benefits of property management is essential to the industry’s future success. Four employees at Centana Property Management are professional members of the National Association of Residential Property Management (NARPM).

We have continued to embrace technology over the years. Our software platform allows tenants and owners to log in to make payments, submit maintenance requests, view owner statements and reports. You can view our listings online through our website rentbuttemt.com, and you can submit an application online. Our listings feed to over 100 websites through our software. Our detailed inspections are completed in the field through the use of a mobile device.
