Eric Slifkin is the founder and team lead of the Slifkin Real Estate Team based in Stuart, Florida. Eric holds a Florida Real Estate Broker license and is a Broker-Associate at Keller Williams Realty of the Treasure Coast. Eric and his team of experienced agents serve the Treasure Coast to Palm Beach real estate corridor, including Stuart, Palm City, Hobe Sound, Jensen Beach, Vero Beach, Port Saint Lucie, and the Palm Beaches.

Having completed over 1000 real estate transactions, Eric's successful real estate practice evolved from his background in Information Technology and customer relations, which helped shape his vision of marketing homes online to buyers and for sellers in Stuart, Florida, and the Treasure Coast.

Eric is a dominant force when it comes to local online real estate, leveraging the most advanced real estate Web platforms, Social Media venues, and responsive design Web sites to provide buyers state-of-the-art home finding tools.

What did you do before becoming a real estate agent?

In 2002 after a twenty-year career in Information Technology, my family and I decided to relocate to Stuart, Florida from Northern New Jersey. Soon after our move, I found myself unemployed in an area with limited job opportunities at the time.

I was also in the midst of buying a home, which was for sale by the owner (FSBO). The sellers, an elderly couple, would not work with my Realtor and did not have a clue about selling their own home. I sorted it out and we had a successful transaction. I also had an 'aha moment' and became a licensed real estate professional three months later.

With limited funds but a solid background in IT and Website development, I decided my real estate practice would be an online venture that would harness the Internet’s potential to transform the way consumers search for real estate, especially when it comes to out of town buyers. I soon developed my first user-friendly Web site and lead capture system, which was a rarity in our market at the time.

How did you decide to get into the industry?

With limited funds but a solid background in IT and Website development, I decided my real estate practice would be an online venture that would harness the Internet’s potential to transform the way consumers search for real estate, especially when it comes to out of town buyers. I soon developed my first user-friendly Web site and lead capture system, which was a rarity in our market at the time.

Have you ever faced any challenges in your current business?

My biggest challenge is handling the number of leads we get every month from our online marketing! We are in the process of deploying systems and software to improve lead management and follow up with our database of existing and new users. Externally, the competition will always be a challenge but our strength as a team and work ethic continue to be a bulwark against competing agents and industry 'disrupters'.

How many brokerages have you worked with so far?

Just two: Century 21 for six years and Keller Williams for the last twelve years.

What were the pros and cons of each brokerage you worked with?

C21 was great for the training but not very forward-thinking at the time (my opinion). KW was a game-changer with their access to cutting edge technology, which is so important to our operation. KW is also agent-centric vs the traditional agency focussed model.

What has the proudest moment of your career been so far?

We are about to sell out our first new construction project, a 50 townhouse community that was relaunched after failing during the housing recession.

What technology do you use in your business process to improve your customers’ experience?

We are always optimizing our Websites for the best customer experience but we rely on our CRM to ensure clients and their transactions are managed properly.

How important do you think getting good online reviews is?

Reviews help establish customers' comfort levels and help them decide if they even want to have a conversation with you. That said attaining a good review means having a satisfied customer.

How does this factor affect your business, and what effort do you put into receiving good reviews?

That influences everything we do along the way to achieve the best possible customer experience.

What are the primary advantages your clients get when choosing you over your competitors?

We are a group of professionals who are committed to supporting our clients and each other. We market homes for sellers and buyers leveraging technology and the Internet to facilitate a successful transaction while offering home buyers a turn-key approach to finding and purchasing real estate. Our Web sites draw thousands of unique visitors every month, including local, out of town, and international home buyers.
