My Bio
I have been practicing exclusively bankruptcy law in Texas for almost 40 years. Unlike most other law firms, my firm is exclusively dedicated to helping individuals and small businesses find a way out of their financial difficulties through the use of our nation’s bankruptcy laws.
Also, unlike most other law firms, my practice is completely “touch-free,” from your first meeting to bankruptcy discharge, thus making your bankruptcy filing very safe during this global pandemic.
The decision to file bankruptcy is one of the most difficult decisions an individual can make. My clients come to my offices scared, nervous, and embarrassed. They leave relieved that their financial problems have been solved in a legal, moral, and ethical manner.
I worked for large law firms in Dallas and Waco and as in-house counsel for a large bank. After marrying and having three children, I wanted to start representing families who were having financial difficulties. So, I started my own law firm on Austin Avenue in Waco, Texas in 2000. We opened a second office in Killeen in 2006 and have been operating both offices (now virtually) since those times.
I am a female lawyer practicing in federal courts in Central Texas. When I attended law school, only 10% of my class was female. Over the past 40 years, I have really seen women become more prominent and respected in the legal profession. I am also a working mom, operating two businesses in a Pandemic. My husband and I also own and operate a real estate company. All of these challenges have taught me more about business and law and how to juggle work and home life.
I graduated from Texas Tech Law School in 1983
I graduated from Southern Methodist University in 1985 with a Masters Degree in Public Administration
I graduated from Trinity University in 1979 with a double major in Political Science and Journalism
I am the current chairwoman of the Waco Historic Commission
I have held many positions within the Texas Bar Association, Bankruptcy Section
Opening my own law firm and having it survive a global pandemic.
We are totally virtual, from the initial free consultation to the conclusion. This is very important due to the risks associated with the Coronavirus Pandemic. I have also been practicing bankruptcy law in Texas for almost 40 years, so I am one of the most experienced bankruptcy attorneys in Central Texas.
