What an incredible disappointment and waste of our time and money.

Our Real Estate office, Touchstone Real Estate, signed up for a year contract with FMO Media in hopes of growing our presence in our community and on our social media, as well as taking a lot of the social media off of our plates as we are very busy and a high producing office.

In the beginning, we had such high hopes. They presented a clear and concise plan, asked very in depth questions and we really felt like they were taking the time to get to know us. We were excited and confident that they would do the work and represent us well. Unfortunately, they were so disappointing and did not live up to what was promised.

We felt as though they didn’t hold us in high regard because we are a smaller office. The posts they made were impersonal and didn’t feel like us. They would be slow in responding and there would be gaps in posting. (Once as long as 4 weeks with no posts on our social media page). We voiced concerns but didn’t see a change.

The promised photo shoot was a disaster. It took months to schedule, they only sent one photographer who seemed unqualified and like a deer in the headlights and got to very little of our planned itinerary in her day at our office. It took them so long to edit our shoot and as they got videos back to us, it was very clear that the quality was not up to par. The lighting was terrible, the videos sound was echoey, the angles were not good. We relayed our concerns and they re-edited, but its hard to fix it when the raw footage itself is bad.

We voiced our concerns, but it always felt like they gave us the run around and wouldn’t just give us a direct answer. Three quarters of the way through our one year contract we asked to be released as we had had enough. They offered us a redo photo shoot, but after our last one we did not trust that the quality was there. Instead we proposed they let us out of our last quarter as we were so unhappy with every aspect of the work they did for us. After more run around, we were told there was no way we could break the contract early, even though they had absolutely breached the promises made to us in our contract. They did end up sending another videographer out who was much more qualified, but this was just a couple of months before our contractor ended.

To say I am disappointed would be a massive understatement. In our one year with them we only gained roughly 40 followers. To be fair, everyone we talked with and worked with was incredibly kind, but they just could not deliver what they promised. When we did approach them, we were given excuses and they went so far as to throw out that they had taken on a client that is a huge social media influencer that took more time and support then they were prepared for, but that just solidified the fact that due to our small size, they did not see us as holding the same value.

Off-boarding was difficult and we felt they gave us the run around when we needed to access our info. We finally just received the last of it, two months later. We had to call our podcast company ourselves to regain access to it which was time consuming and unnecessary, as they easily could have just given us the information when asked.

We may be a smaller Real Estate brokerage, but we were still a legitimate client that paid the full amount for our contract. The size of the client should not change the amount of effort put forth. We feel like we flushed so much money down the drain and that a year that we could have grown was taken from us with so many false promises. The lack of integrity in their business is very upsetting and I wouldn’t recommend anyone working with them. It may be a pretty picture that they sell you when they bring you on, but it is a facade.
