What did you do before becoming a real estate agent?

When I was six, I used to play like I was a real estate agent. It was all I wanted to do. My family pressured me to go to school to become a teacher, but teaching didn't work out, so I decided to get my real estate license.

How did you decide to get into the industry?

I've worked in the industry since I was in my early 20's. I love this industry, and couldn't imagine doing anything else!

Have you ever faced any challenges in your current business?

My biggest challenge has been finding motivated buyers and sellers. Often, I run into buyers that are interested to go and look, but won't show a proof of funds, pre-approval letter or speak with a lender before going out to look. There are some instances where I will meet a buyer without these things in place, but they are few and far between. Recently, I've encountered a number of sellers that aren't quite ready. They want to jump on the "hot market", which is getting further and further behind us, and cash in on the sale of their home. When previewing the home, and talking about things to do in order to ensure we get top-dollar, sellers are often disappointed that we can't get their price without them putting forth any effort. In many markets, we're finding those days to be behind us. We're still getting great activity- but it's not what it was during the throes of the Pandemic. Interest rates have gone back to normal, and home prices have stabilized. This is great for buyers- not so much for sellers.

How many brokerages have you worked with so far?

Two.

What were the pros and cons of each brokerage you worked with?

When I first started in real estate, the brokerage I joined was a local company, and I learned a lot, but didn't do much business. I found myself running into challenges here and there, and not getting the help I needed to succeed. Eventually, an opportunity presented itself to work with an agent at a different brokerage as a buyer's agent. This brokerage offered a slew of training, and my business multiplied exponentially. I'm still with that brokerage, and the learning opportunities never end. As the market evolves, so do the training opportunities.

What are the awards, professional achievements, and accomplishments you have received?

What has the proudest moment of your career been so far?

Expanding my business to a new state!

What technology do you use in your business process to improve your customers’ experience?

Technology is great, and I use a lot of systems to ensure streamlined service. DocuSign, DotLoop, our local MLS platforms. However, much of the process can't be replaced with technology. Often, we need a real person to help us navigate the ins and outs of the real estate transaction process.

How important do you think getting good online reviews is?

Good reviews are important.

How does this factor affect your business, and what effort do you put into receiving good reviews?

Savvy consumers will look for our reviews to see what kind of agent we are. They aren't the end-all, be-all though. There's a lot to be said for your first impression- and if the prospective client is happy with you, a lack of reviews may not matter so much.

What are the primary advantages your clients get when choosing you over your competitors?

I work in two markets, Central NJ and the Tampa Bay area of Florida. I have unique insight and perspective for others who are looking to relocate from Florida to New Jersey. I've worked extensively in the administrative side of the business, so I have a more in depth view and attention to detail to the nuances of the contract, and any issues that might arise. I own a transaction management company, that helps other Realtors manage their contract to close process. I've helped hundreds of families through the process, and am well prepared for anything that might arise.
