My Bio

I have a masters degree in Psychology and was a research psychologist in the US Army prior to getting into the real estate business. I did psychotherapy with Army officers returning from duty in Vietnam.

I was in my 20's when I first entered the real estate industry and my "youth" was a challenge when working with people looking to sell or buy one of the most valuable assets in their lifetime; a home. I also started my real estate career working for my family's real estate company and fellow agents were looking to see if Daddy's kid could succeed.

Michael is currently on the Board of Governors of the Keller Williams Luxury Homes International, helping develop the acclaimed Luxury Homes Division International. Past President of the California Desert Association of Realtors. State Certified Broker Specialist & State Certified Residential Specialists, 25 years as Director of the California Association of Realtors.

Member of KW Global Property Specialists, Proxio with 585,000 international agents and 83 international language specific websites. Founded Keller Williams Realty in the Coachella Valley in 2003 currently with 4 offices and 550 agents, as well as Keller Williams in Redlands CA with 150 agents, and Keller Williams in Big Bear Lake/Lake Arrowhead with 80 agents.

Michael comes from a family of Real Estate with his Father starting their family real estate firm near Green Bay WI over 45 years ago. 3 brothers all Realtors, as well as a son, Heath who is his partner in his companies.

What did you do before becoming a real estate agent?

I have a master's degree in Psychology and was a research psychologist in the US Army prior to getting into the real estate business. I did psychotherapy with Army officers returning from duty in Vietnam.

Have you ever faced any challenges in your current business?

This is absolutely an area of growth for us. I pride myself in doing a great job for our clients and yet I struggle with broadcasting our accomplishments. I am incredibly proud that on average we are selling our listings for 100-106% over LIST price in record time while the average agent is netting their clients 97% of list price. I am netting sellers up to 10% higher than I was in my 20's when I first entered the real estate industry and my 'youth' was a challenge when working with people looking to sell or buy one of the most valuable assets in their lifetime; a home. I also started my real estate career working for my family's real estate company and fellow agents were looking to see if Daddy's kid could succeed.

How many brokerages have you worked with so far?

3. Family brokerage in Green Bay WI was #1, then relocated to CA and worked for a small boutique firm in Palm Desert, then ReMax.

What were the pros and cons of each brokerage you worked with?

Working for a family business gave me the opportunity to participate in a lot of training and education while working for the small boutique firm gave me the opportunity to be tutored by the broker/owner and ReMax provided the opportunity to expand my referral network.

Recently my son Heath was awarded Multiple Market Centers General Manager of the Year for the Keller Williams Inland Empire Region.

Online reviews are important, powerful.

How does this factor affect your business, and what effort do you put into receiving good reviews?

We use Yelp as well as testimonials from clients and always ask for those positive reviews from our buyers and sellers.

What are the primary advantages your clients get when choosing you over your competitors?
