Here at Sterling West Property Management, we are extremely passionate about what we do and have built a company culture of fun, giving back to our community and providing superior property management services. We manage roughly 500 residential properties all over the Rogue valley and have been honored to receive the Southern Oregon's Best Property Management Company two years in a row (2019 & 2020)!
We have three Licensed Property Managers on staff who have been in the business for over 10 years. As a team we have had our own experiences as tenants, homeowners and investment property owners and pride ourselves on meeting the needs of each individual.
I was the Accounting and Office Manager for a large Real Estate Company. It gave me a lot of insight into how the Real Estate Industry operates.
I gained relationships with a large group of agents who now refer their clients to me to manage their properties.
I sort of fell into the business and bought an already existing company. But my strategy was to take my experience with other property management companies and compare it to my own. I had already had experiences with property management companies as an owner. I purposely rented from my own company, as well as, some of my competitors so I could get a feel for the what our clients experienced when they rented from us. I took good notes on what I liked and didn't like during these experiences and applied them to my own business.
Finding great employees was a big struggle in the beginning. Property Management is a tough business with a lot of turnovers so I had to seek talented people who enjoyed the work and were passionate about providing the level of service I expected. Organizing the chaos is always a challenge, we have a million things going on at all times, and its hard to be where everyone wants you to be all the time.
We were voted the Best Property Management Company in Southern Oregon for 2019
I had a goal to grow the # of properties the company manages and I hit that goal in 2019 putting us in the top 2% of the nation.
We have a state of the art software that allows applicants to apply for properties online, tenants can pay rent online and owners can log into their own individual portals to view inspections and accounting reports.
Online reviews are basically a digital resume for our business. They are very important to us.
Employees have been trained to ask for them during all transactions and I answer every one we receive.
We do inspections a minimum of twice a year and drive by our properties every month. We answer our phones 9:00-5:30 Monday through Friday. On our off hours we have an answering service who answers our phones and routes them to us if any emergencies arise. We have a close relationship with over 200 Real Estate Agents in the valley which helps us better serve the needs of our investor clients.
