My Bio
Home sales are personal, and it takes personalized attention to meet your needs when you’re buying, selling, or investing. When it comes to choosing the right REALTOR®, there are few more qualified than I am.
With every new client is an opportunity for me to blend my passion as an Austin local with my experience as a broker with over 3,000 closed transactions. No matter your experience, I pay mindful attention to market trends and deals to create affordable solutions for families, retirees, military professionals, and all in between.
From day one, I am a listener above all else. I approach every question from a friendly, analytical lens to offer my most honest and realistic answers. When you work with me, it’s my professional promise to create a future that we can both be proud of.
After graduating from The University of Texas in 1975 with a degree in Radio-TV-Film jobs were limited.
I had a friend who was doing well in real estate so I decided to get my license.
When you are new everything is a challenge. But I concentrated on getting listings and I think that is the key to success in Real Estate.
I started with Bill Kemp Realty World, Then I sold lots at Lago Vista. In 1984 I was the Broker for Austin Re/Max North, but we opened the doors just as the Texas Savings and Loan crisis unfolded and we could not stand the red ink for month after month and had to close that business. So I started operating as Tim Sweeney Realtors at the same time I became the Texas Broker for a company called Yourigloo.com. I was their most active broker in all 50 states selling homes in Dallas, San Antonio, Canyon Lake/New Braunfels, and El Paso, Texas. I had to join all those boards and learn the different software of each one. It kept me busy and I learned a lot working with lots of different sellers.
Certain transactions where I know I really helped my sellers get to closing, in short sales, in difficult situations that took a lot of time.
Mostly MLS tools which are pretty awesome these days. Especially the search capabilities for new buyers that alert my buyers the second a property of interest hit the market.
Good reviews are important. I have more than a few.
I prefer to do transactions as opposed to managing agents. Having closed over 2700 transactions I have a lot of experience that most agents don't have. So at every phase of the transaction, my clients are dealing with me, not some assistant that may or may not be familiar with the property or the clients' motivation.
