Overview
Having been in residential real estate since 1988, Mike Reid has been the sole owner of Ultimate Properties since 1994. Mike, alongside his wife Vanessa, managed 200 properties, launching their lifelong business specializing in residential property management.
Today, this family-run business has tripled in size, managing over 600 single-family units and has expanded into residential sales and commercial management and leasing. With over 10+ employees and nearly $200 million worth of assets under their management, Ultimate Properties continues to grow and thrive.
Before I started Ultimate Properties, I flipped houses and then earned my real estate license. I understood the repair, maintenance, and upkeep of a home, which helped in looking after investment properties for other people.
My reason for creating my company was to work in a field that I was passionate about. I believe with individual customer service and special attention to clients' needs, I would be able to create a company that would lead with integrity and be staffed with competent and helpful employees.
The biggest challenge is constantly changing markets. (I have worked through three recessions.)

For one, we are the 'right-sized' company, meaning we are not a huge company managing thousands of units and we are not incredibly small struggling with resources for our clients. We have a personal touch to everything we do as that we are a family-owned business. We have a performance-based fee structure that makes our relationships with our clients truly fiduciary. If we don't collect any rents, our company does not get paid.
