Interview with AG Rentals and Management
What did you do before becoming a real estate agent?

In 2006, I started working for a real estate investor who self-managed his own rentals. While working for him, I learned the ins and outs of the rentals business. In 2011, this investor joined forces with another investor in town and created a property management company, in which I was able to develop policies and procedures that helped grow the business. I was able to use all the experience and relationships to create my own property management company, in which I was finally able to implement the changes necessary to build a brand with a positive impact in the community.

Have you ever faced any challenges in your current business?

One of our struggles has been able to find the right team players (Office Staff). We have been very selective and picky about who we hire as we are looking for long term players.

What are the awards, professional achievements, and accomplishments you have received?

AG Rentals & Management LLC has been selected for the 2019 Best of Fort Wayne Award in the Property Management Company category by the Fort Wayne Award Program.

AG Rentals & Management LLC has been selected as 2019 Top 3 Property Management in Fort Wayne by Three Best Rated.

What has the proudest moment of your career been so far?

Being able to get to where we are at today, without having to step on anyone’s toes and creating a good relationship with other property managers in town.

What technology do you use in your business process to improve your customers’ experience?

We use AppFolio (Property Management Software) which allows us to do everything online including but not limited to the capability to receive online apps, schedule showings, sign leases, collect rent payment, receive work orders, send and receive emails and text from tenants. For owners, we are able to send monthly statements per property or complete portfolio (owner’s choice), pull rent comps from other users, bill work orders and make readys.

We use Verizon One Talk which is a multi-line telephone solution connecting our office phone to our mobile devices, providing business telephone features on any of our common devices, anywhere we go.

We use Google Drive to help organize pictures collected to store and share with our clients as needed.

How important do you think getting good online reviews is?

We think it is very important as we have a lot of out of town prospects (both tenants and owners) that are not here to see the work we do for themselves and depend on these reviews to make a choice on their next property manager or their next home.

How does this factor affect your business, and what effort do you put into receiving good reviews?

We are always asking for feedback whether good or bad to make sure we can always learn and grow as a company.

What are the primary advantages your clients get when choosing you over your competitors?

Our team has over 13 years of property management experience in the Fort Wayne market. In addition to this, we are one of the youngest property managers in Fort Wayne. This means that we are very comfortable adapting with the times, and we are constantly looking for new ways to integrate the latest technology for our tenants and owners. Whether this is done through upgrading our website, by improving our digital marketing strategies, or via implementing new processes like self-showings, we consistently strive to stay ahead of the times so that we are better positioned to serve our clients regardless of what happens in the market. Take this COVID-19 situation for example. Because we have already implemented self-showings and conduct a majority of our business online, we have been able to continue working as usual with little to no impact on our tenants and owners.
