I had my own company doing Public Relations and Event Planning.
I was doing event planning and one night a friend came over to tell me I should get into Real Estate. He encouraged me because he knew I liked to be self-employed, knew I was a go-getter who liked meeting and talking to new people all the time, and told me I would be very successful at it. I agreed to go to an open house for agents at a nearby brokerage and the rest is history.
I found it very easy at first. I was living in an apartment building in Brookline so I told all the neighbors what I was doing and got a lot of business quickly. In 2006 I had twins and in 2007 another baby and with sleep deprivation and being a new mom, I let my career roll to the back of the priority list and struggled for a while. This was around the same time as the mortgage crisis so we definitely had some lean years.
4. I started at Prudential Unlimited in Brookline which is now Sotheby's. I liked it a lot and learned the business by gaining experience. I then switched to William Raveis in Newton because I was tired of getting parking tickets in Coolidge Corner and it was a bit closer to my house for when my babies were born. I then moved to the South Brookline William Raveis office which also had free parking because I really loved my manager at the time and she was moving there. When she left, it wasn't the same and a friend convinced me to try Benoit, Mizner and Simon in Wellesley. This was a challenging environment for me because when you answered the phone on floor time and said the name of the company, the person on the other end just wanted to speak with one of the principals. After 2 years, the manager I had loved moved to the Newton office of Keller Williams and I went to join her. I've been very happy at Keller Williams ever since.
I received #3 for individual agents in GCI for 2019 from the Keller Williams Chestnut Hill Market Center.
I have completed the KW program BOLD twice and have received plaques.
I have earned the designation of Senior Real Estate Specialist from the Greater Boston Real Estate Board
I have earned the designation Certified Divorce Specialist from the National Association of Divorce Professionals.
I have earned the Luxury designation through Keller Williams Luxury International.
I have completed the course work and earned the Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist designation through the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing.
Achieving #3 in GCI was pretty amazing for me. In a career full of ups and downs that was definitely a crowning achievement after a year of very hard work.
KW is rolling out all-new technology which is going to make the customer experience amazing. I can't wait to start getting it into the hands of my clients!
I think it's very important and it's one of the things I always forget to ask for.
I am careful to keep up good relationships with my clients well after the sale so I don't feel bad asking them for reviews even years later.
With 16 + years of experience, I continue to learn, grow my knowledge base in new areas, and find customers who really need and appreciate the assistance I can offer. Currently, I am one of the few Realtors in my area with the specific knowledge that divorcing homeowners need to help them make educated decisions around their marital home. I also am always out networking and meeting new people so I can have a good list of reputable resources for anything my clients may need from attorneys to insurance agents to divorce coaches, etc..
