Ms. Doerr began her real estate career in 1992 in San Antonio, Texas, where her primary business location continues to this date. As an agent for Keller Williams Realty International (KW), and later with Avalar Real Estate, Michelle repeatedly won numerous sales excellence awards such as Top Producer, Sales Agent of the Month, Top Sales Agent, and One Million Plus Producer, among others. She served on the prestigious Agent Leadership Council with KW for two years and became a Master Sales Agent through the Floyd Wickman (FW) Master Sales Academy.
After earning her Real Estate Broker license in 2008, the following year Michelle created Doerr Realty®, an international real estate brokerage firm in San Antonio. The firm has been involved in several international projects in Mexico, Honduras, Belize and Costa Rica, and, since 2010, has been a VIP referral brokerage business partner with Rocket Loans and Rocket Homes. The partnership has closed over $22 million in real estate transactions in the San Antonio area. Doerr Realty® has since received the Best of San Antonio Real Estate Brokers Award and been inducted into the San Antonio Business Hall of Fame.
Currently a member of the San Antonio Board of Realtors®, Michelle's other professional memberships include the Highland Lakes Association of Realtors®, the Texas Association of Realtors®, the National Association of Realtors®, the Green Resource Council, the U.S. Green Builders Council and the prestigious FW Master Sales Academy.
As a contributor to the Huffington Post, Michelle (along with Michael Greene, the Founder and CEO of the Center for Environmental Health) has been published concerning the roles of mineral rights and fracking in real estate ownership. She also shares her expertise as a "green professional" consulting for the USGBC.
Looking forward, Michelle will continue helping businesses and individual clients buy and sell homes in San Antonio and the Texas Hill Country while expanding her own portfolio of vacation properties for the short-term rentals market and other investments, enabling her to further focus on her involvement in sustainable real estate residential developments throughout Mexico and Central America. She is currently pursuing other certifications through NAR.

It depends. How much are you putting down? When are you closing? What are the lender fees associated with the loan? What are the taxes? Homeowners insurance? How many months of taxes does the lender require in escrow? How many months insurance held in escrow? Everything is prorated to the date of closing and many lenders charge fees others don't. I usually tell buyers 3% of SP is a good estimate.
Good question and I wish I knew the answer. I called the Bexar County Appraisal District and asked that very question and they could not give me an answer. I don't know why are taxes are so much higher than other states. I've been told its because we don't have a state income tax, but that doesn't make sense since there are other states that don't have state income taxes and their taxes are so much lower than ours. If anyone knows the answer, please share!
