Overview
Cairn Custom Homes clients are buyers looking for homes with a floorplan that will best serve and suit the needs of their families. We often hear that our clients had been out looking at resales, but never found a home that made sense or worked for their needs. Many of our buyers have multiple generations living in the home. Many of our floorplan layouts feature a first-floor in-law suite or extensive guest suite for future aging in place.
A rock Cairn is a Zen symbol for balance, stability, and guidance (direction).
Brief history :
• Steve - 30 years with Goodier Builders and over 1,500 homes, mostly single-family, but several hundred townhouses and a mid-rise condominium.
• Lisa - 5 years with Selfridge Builders and 6 years with Goodier Builders & Goodier Baker.
• Goodier Builders transitioned into Goodier Baker about 6 years ago. Now Bob Goodier is retiring and Lou Baker is splitting off into Baker Development.
• We love to build custom homes, so with Bob & Lou’s blessing, encouragement and support Steve and Lisa went off on their own and started Cairn Custom Homes.
We have overcome many challenges along the way, but the major unexpected shifts that came with the COVID pandemic in 2020 were very difficult. It hit us in every aspect of our business, from current client anxiety to supply chain issues, to the inability to meet customer service needs to fear of the housing market. We are facing the future with an optimistic outlook and are already seeing the custom home market heat up again.

I don't know that we can pinpoint one proudest moment, as we feel extremely proud every time we turn over a new home to a family. We feel exceptionally proud when our homeowner's include us in their moving in ceremonies and make us feel a part of the importance of the day.
We are 100% custom and are guiding the entire process alongside our clients from beginning to move in and beyond. Our full-service building program assists with every stage of the home- finding a lot, site, development and engineering, floorplan and exterior elevation design and architecture, and all of the home's unique selections. Our small team values the client builder relationship and this has contributed greatly to our success. Weekly client meetings keep everything on track. The principal builders' Steve and Lisa are involved in every single project.
