My Bio
Patrick brings three decades of deep analytic and professional services to clients, successfully conceiving and growing large analytic advisory practices. His clients have ranged from divorcing individuals to senior-most executives in government and industry. He regularly led analysis driving $billion+ decisions for these clients.
As a senior leader, he helped his former firm negotiate many dozens of business contracts worth $millions, with an eye for financial risks and a proven knack for conceiving win/win terms to facilitate quick and amicable agreements.
After spending years building a financial analytics team at a leading consulting firm from just himself to nearly 100 analysts, Patrick experienced a protracted divorce himself and witnessed the lack of analytic rigor and consequences common in family law.
His lawyer suggested that he should master his raw but insightful analytic skills that helped him prevail in his trial and then transform family law. He subsequently consulted with leading attorneys in northern Virginia, became active in the most prominent divorce financial analysis trade association, and started Baron Analytics.
In nearly a decade since forming Baron Analytics, he has empowered attorneys to present and prevail with financial arguments otherwise impractical. With elite mathematical and modeling skills to bolster his extensive business and finance experience, Patrick has been able to quantify and justify positions for which opposing counsel has to rely more on innuendo and anecdote. For example, this is why his clients and attorneys have been so successful arguing alimony cases.
Patrick is an accomplishes public speaker and represents clients well as an expert witness. In his career, he has testified under oath many times, presented his analysis to C-suite executives at Fortune 500 companies, and consulted to presidential appointees in the federal government.
He has presented at and co-chaired international conferences. Earlier in his career, he even won a public speaking trophy for a regional competition with Toastmasters International. As a trained mathematician and electrical engineer, Patrick has always enjoyed developing insightful and precise analytic models.
He spent much the first year of Baron Analytics building complex models focused on the most common issues in family law. This is an investment he wanted to be available to every one of his clients at no cost so they could enjoy maximum value from his services.
Through his years of experience, he understands what issues can be justified, how to justify them with analysis, and why the analysis is credible. He excels as a witness and draws from extensive negotiations training and case experience to help legal teams translate complex financial concepts into prevailing settlements.
As a strategist and analyst, he designs advanced financial tools and can value businesses. As a convincing communicator, his track record includes defending contentious issues before senior executives and and judges.
He is a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® professional with the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts, a Certified Cost Estimator / Analyst® with the International Cost Estimating and Analysis Association, a Certified Data Wrangler with Trifacta, and a qualified Data Scientist with Data Science Central.
He also holds extensive training certifications and classes in fields of business, divorce, leadership, negotiations, and data analytics. In his free time, he relishes being a father to three amazing young women and a devoted partner to a lovely woman. Divorce is difficult, but he knows first hand how to recover and thrive.
He likes to plan family activities, cook, exercise, play sports (golf, hockey, surfing, skiing), and hike. He is an active member of his community, including a committee member of his HOA and a pro bono contributor to the Virginia Women’s Center, helping women in financial distress.
